CKS recently donated £2,000 to help Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing deliver their summer play scheme programme.
The play schemes have a strong emphasis on the child enrichment programme which focuses on health and well-being, physical and sports development, and food and nutrition. They provide positive activities for children whose life opportunities are limited due to poverty, disadvantaged neighbourhoods and parents on low incomes and benefits.
More than 60 children attended the KNH play schemes over the summer, where they made new friends and took part in fun and exciting activities ranging from rock climbing and fishing to learning about food and nutrition. A six week ‘eat & go’ daily breakfast club held within Chickenley Estate, Dewsbury was also supported by this donation, offering the children of the estate something productive to do from 9am to 11am, as well as a hearty breakfast!
Magnet Contract Sales Manager, Christina Patel, said: “We are incredibly proud to see our donation making a positive difference in this neighbourhood, with dozens of children benefitting from the rich and varied programme of activities delivered by Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing.”
