What cards can I use to make payments on my Trade credit account?

Through your trade credit account you can pay for your purchases online using most debit cards, including Visa Debit, Maestro, Solo and Electron. Your debit card details will be encrypted to help keep them secure. Please note that in the interest of security, Magnet Trade will never ask for your full username, password or debit card details via emails or pop-ups.
If you do not hold an online account with us, you can pay using any of the major credit and debit cards in store (see above for listed cards). Alternatively, you can sign up for a credit account when you click here, and manage your account 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Additional security steps

You can configure your web browser to tell you when your details are being sent and to warn if they are not being sent in a secure way,
to activate this:

Internet Explorer – select OPTIONS on the VIEW menu and then click the SECURITY tab, ensure that all the warning boxes have been ticked.

Firefox – select TOOLS then OPTIONS on the tools menu and then click the SECURITY tab, go into settings of the warning messages section – ensure that all the warning boxes have been ticked.

Online security is constantly evolving so, if you are using older versions of Internet Explorer (version 5 or older), we recommend you update your browser to a later version of IE in order to take full advantage of the improved security features.

How do I change my address or company name?

You can make changes to your address or company name by emailing creditcontrol@magnet.co.uk. Please ensure you include your account number, your existing address and company name, as well as your new one. Alternately, call or visit your local Magnet Trade branch.

If you have registered your Magnet Trade account online you can also edit your address details here, although you will not be able to make amends to your company name. Simply Sign In to your account using your email address and password.
Select ‘View/change personal details’ from the My Account menu.

How do I register on the website?

If you are a Magnet Trade account holder, you can register your account online to get full access to your account facility, including the ability to check your statements and invoices and make payments online. To register you will need to input your 8 digit account number, your postcode (as it appears on your statement) and your email address. You will be asked to choose a password at least 6 characters long.
You will receive an email to confirm your account registration.

How do I open a Trade account?

To open a trade account you will need to fill in an application form, either in your local Magnet Trade branch or you can complete our online form. The online form will take around 10 minutes and will be sent to your chosen branch. Your branch will then contact you to arrange a time for you to come in with proof of identity, in order to complete the application.

The branch will then send off your application to our Credit Control department, who will process your application in 2 working days or quicker if possible. You will be notified when your application has been processed.

I want to change my email address

If you would like to change your email address please login to you account and click ‘Update Account Details’ in the right hand side tool bar.
Here you have the option to update your email address.

Problems accessing pop up quote form

To allow pop ups from the Magnet Trade site (For Windows Internet Explorer only):

1. Click on the ‘Tools’ button (featured within your web browser toolbar)

2. Select ‘Internet Options’, then select the ‘Privacy’ tab at the top of the ‘Internet Options’ box

Beneath the section called ‘Pop-up Blocker’ tick box to allow pop-ups (NB; you can also click on ‘Settings’, insert www.magnettrade.co.uk web address and click ‘Add’ to always allow pop-ups from the Magnet Trade website the next time you log in, finally click ‘Close’

I am not receiving your newsletters

If you are not receiving our regular monthly emails, you could be missing out on regular exclusive offers and updates.

One of the most common reasons for this that your email software is marking emails from us as junk mail, and are sending them to your spam folder. To stop this from happening, please add admin@magnettrade.co.uk to your email address book,
then emails from us should come through just fine.

If you checked this and are still not getting the newsletter, make sure you typed in the right email address when you signed up with us.

Problems registering my account

Please ensure your details are entered correctly. The following information will need to be entered exactly as it appears on your monthly statement;

• Account number
• Postcode – e.g. Whether your postcode appears with a space in the middle or without, you will need to insert your postcode exactly as it appears

NB: If there are any errors in the way your postcode appears on your statement please complete the Contact Us form.

Suspicious emails

Magnet Trade may send you emails from time to time but we would never send an email asking for your security information or log on details, or direct you to a web page that asks for this information.

If you receive an email that appears to be from Magnet Trade that you suspect is fraudulent, do not click on any links contained within the email or provide any debit card or log in details. Please forward a copy of the suspicious email to marketingenquiries@magnet.co.uk

Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode

What is it?

Magnet Trade payments are sponsored by RBS WorldPay and participates in Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode for added online payment security. These services are offered by Visa and MasterCard, in association with the bank that has issued your debit card. It is aimed at protecting your details when making payments online by ensuring your card is not being used by someone else and is becoming a standard across all transactional websites. They allow you to create a password that is known only to yourself, to use every time you use your card online. You only need to do this once then whenever you use the card online you will be asked to enter the password when you check out.

What will I see?

If your card qualifies and you haven’t yet registered, simply follow the on-screen instructions. This process will create an online code (different to your card PIN – an online PIN equivalent) for use on Magnet Trade and other participating websites. Alternatively, you can sign up by contacting the bank that issued your card directly. If you have already registered, you will be prompted to enter your details when you make a payment.

This is a completely secure process. The information you provide is completely private, will only be visible to you and your card issuer, and would never be shared with other parties.

If you’re unsure about this new service, you may be able to complete your payment without registering but your card issuer will eventually require you to register to continue paying online.

Problems signing into my account

When you want to access your account, exclusive offers or make a payment online, we ask you to sign in. If you find that your email address or password is not recognised, please make sure you are using the same email address and password that you used when you registered with us.

If you can’t remember your password, Click here for our ‘Password reminder service’, simply type your email address in the box provided and we’ll send you an email to remind you what your password is.

You can change your password or any of your other details at any time. Simply sign into your account and click on ‘My Account Details’ and then change ‘Account Details’ within the left hand menu.

Is it safe to pay online?

You can be totally confident when you make a payment with Magnet Trade. We are confident about the payment security we offer on our site as we use Secure Server software that encrypts your debit card information to ensure your payment with us is private and protected as it travels over the Internet. Every payment transaction we process is checked to validate the authenticity and validity of the payment cards used, as well as indicators of possible fraudulent use. In the unlikely event of fraudulent or unauthorised use of your payment card in online transactions, most banks and card issuers which subscribe to the Banking Code either cover all the charges or may limit your liability to a set amount.

How quickly will I receive my order?
Your store will confirm your collection date with you once they have received and processed your order. If your order is in stock the following guidelines will apply and your store will contact you to confirm the time of collection:

  • In stock orders ordered before 4pm, collect from 7.30am the next working day
  • In stock orders ordered after 4pm, collect from 1pm the next working day

Is Click & Collect available at my local Magnet Trade store?
Yes, Click & Collect is available from all Magnet Trade stores – find your local store today using our store locator .

Are all products available to Click & Collect?
No, for your convenience we have added our in stock kitchen ranges (click here to view range) and selected internal doors, hardware and flooring, that can be ordered through our Quick Shop. Visit your local store to find even more great products.

Can I pay for my order online?
Payment is required during collection in store and online trade account holders have the flexibility of managing their payments online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Sign up for a trade credit account today!

Do I need to pay a deposit?
Depending on the size of your order, stores may ask you to pay a deposit over the phone before collection. This is to prevent us from reserving stock for non-genuine customers. Any monies taken will be deducted from the final cost of your order.

Will I be notified when my order is available to collect?
Yes, once you’ve clicked submit on your order you will receive email confirmation of your order and your nominated store will then call to confirm pick up dates and timings.

Is there a minimum or maximum limit to how many items I can order?
No, you can order anything from a pack of screws to a full kitchen with worktops and appliances.

How long will my order be held before I collect?
Once your collection date has been confirmed by your store we will hold your order for 5 working days. If the order is not collected within the 5 working days, we will assume it is unwanted and cancel the order.

Will I be able to contact my store to amend my order?
Yes, if there are any changes to your order please contact your store with your details at the earliest convenience.

Can I order an out of stock item?
Yes, you can order an item if it is out of stock, and the collection date of your order will be in line with when the item arrives back in store.

Can I collect on a Saturday?
Saturday opening hours may vary from store to store, if you would prefer to collect on a Saturday please contact your store to arrange this collection.

What happens on Bank Holidays?
Store opening hours vary over bank holiday periods. Once you have placed your Click & Collect order please contact your local store to see whether it is possible to arrange collection on a bank holiday.
